'The World Died Today While You Were On Your Phone - Vol.1' comes from I Hold the Great Rack's multi-panelled series on Instagram that repurposes mainstream media to redefine how experimental art can be consumed. Set at a punchy 120 bpm, the music is undeniably catchy with soaring trumpet particles, witty vocal jabs and liquidised bass lines that feel simultaneously familiar yet other worldly.

From a broader perspective, 'The World Died Today While You Were On Your Phone' reflects the platform on which it inhabits. It's an evolving work that interrogates social media's narcissistic culture, passive activism and perpetuation of tired norms to bring a new perspective to our default scrolling gaze.
